Robert has had more than 70 professional productions of his plays. DADS! THE MUSICAL was nominated for a Dora Mavor Moore Award in Toronto, and won the prestigious Fringe First Award at the Edinburgh Festival. DADS 2: THE TODDLERS’ REVENGE, premiered at Waterloo Stage in April 2004, went on to The Mayfield Theatre in Edmonton, The Thousand Islands Playhouse in Gananoque, and The Magnus Theatre in Thunder Bay. As an actor, Robert has performed across Canada, and was at the National Arts Centre and Stratford for six years as well as a member of the Grand Company with Robin Phillips in 1983-84. Robert is currently Managing Director at Presentation House Theatre in North Vancouver. Previously he served as Artistic Director of Lighthouse Festival Theatre in Port Dover for ten years ; Managing & Artistic Director for seven years at Victoria Playhouse Petrolia; and Artistic Director of Bluewater Summer Playhouse in Kincardine. Other writing credits include A MATTER OF TIME (Theatre Orangeville, 2004 and Theatre Magnus, 2008), OIL RUSH, co-written with composer Jacqueline Sadler (Victoria Playhouse, 2008) and a wonderful family focussed one act play THE SHADOW STEALER which has been produced many, many times across Canada over two decades. His most recent writing projects include “Everything I Love About Christmas” (Upper Canada Playhouse December 2012) and his newest play, a vampire musical, “Carry On Vamping” (expected June 2016 | venue TBA!). Robert He has four fantastic daughters, Caitlin, Emily, Rhianna and Heather.
