Michael spent a number of years on-air in radio before his love of theatre was sparked after being dragged to an audition to act as moral support for a friend. He didn’t get that part but... he did get the next one! Michael’s writing has been mainly in the field of comedy, including writing freelance for Jay Lenos’ Tonight Show monologue and for Kevin Nealon during his stint on Saturday Night Lives’ Weekend Update segment. Michael’s writing has been mainly in the field of comedy, including writing freelance for Jay Lenos’ Tonight Show monologue and for Kevin Nealon during his stint on Saturday Night Lives’ Weekend Update segment. For a time he also had regular columns in two U.S. comedy newsletters. As a playwright, in addition to two successful professional productions at the Port Stanley Festival Theatre, his work has been performed in the Inspirato and New Ideas Festivals in Toronto, the International CringeFest in New York City, in Midland Texas, at the North American Actors Association play reading festival “Crossing the Divide” in London England, three times each in the Asphalt Jungle Shorts Festival in Kitchener, the London One Act Festival and The Grand Theatres’ Playwrights Cabaret.
